REPORTS
March
11: A citizen reported individuals climbing a post to
disturb an eagles nest on the I-5 southbound on ramp.
Officers contacted two adults photographing an eagle and
nest. No climbing/disturbing of the eagles had occurred.
No crime.
March 11: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic
violation in the 700 block of Peace Portal Drive and found
the driver to be DUI. The driver was arrested, processed
and released. The vehicle was impounded.
March 10: An officer contacted a suspicious male near a
closed business in the 500 block of Peace Portal Drive.
The officer discovered a felony arrest warrant on the male.
A small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was on
his person. The male was arrested and booked into county
jail.
March 10: An officer saw a suspicious vehicle drive
through a parking lot in the 800 block of Boblett Street.
The displayed plates did not match the vehicle. An investigation
is continuing.
March 10: An employee at a business in the 200 block
of D Street found about one gram of suspected marijuana
near a gas pump island. The substance was destroyed.
March 10: An officer saw a person quickly walk to
a side of a building in the 200 block of D Street. The officer
contacted the person as he was about to urinate. The person
was warned and directions to the restroom were provided.
March 9: An officer assisted the fire department
on a medical aid call in the 200 block of 10th Street. A
citizen who is diabetic did not take his insulin shot and
had a very high blood sugar count. The citizen was transported
to St. Josephs Hospital by ambulance.
March 9: A young man brought an adult seagull to
the police station. The gull was believed to be possibly
injured or ill. It could not fly and was lethargic. An officer
transported the seagull to a wildlife center for examination.
March 9: An individual with an outstanding Blaine
warrant was booked into jail in Puyallup on unrelated charges.
Our warrant was faxed to their jail and cleared from the
system.
March 9: Officers arrested an adult male for one
felony warrant and one misdemeanor warrant. The man had
run from another Blaine officer on the previous night for
a traffic stop. The man was booked into jail.
March 9: A citizen reported that person(s) unknown
stole her purse from her unlocked vehicle in the parking
lot of a business in the 1700 block of H Street. There are
no suspects or witnesses.
March 8: Officers contacted two men while in the
200 block of D Street. One of the men ran from the officer
because he had outstanding warrants. The man hid in the
marina and had not been located at the time this report
was filed.
March 8: Blaine officers assisted the Washington
State Patrol with a one party, non-injury, non-blocking
motor vehicle accident at Blaine and Loomis Trail roads.
A pickup struck a tree and the driver left before officers
arrived. A report was completed for WSP.
March 8: A person entering the U.S. from Canada was
found to be carrying marijuana and a pipe. The person was
arrested and issued a criminal citation.
March 8: An individual requested a report be made
concerning the theft of his personal ham radio. The radio
was taken during an inspection at the U.S. port of entry
and was later returned.
March 7: Officers performed foot patrol of downtown
area and businesses. Checks included store fronts and alleyways.
One vacant business door was found unsecured, but
was secured by officers after the interior was checked.
March 7: An officer stopped and identified three
young males walking near school grounds late at night. The
subjects names and addresses were taken for further
reference.
March 6: A small amount of marijuana was found in
a vehicle at the Peace Arch POE. The driver admitted the
marijuana was his and stressed that it was for personal
use only. He was issued a citation and released.
March 6: A complainant in the 1200 block of 4th Street
reported a vehicle with out-of-state license plates parks
near her house on the street for a few days and then the
driver comes back and moves the car. The complainant stated
this has occurred a few times.
March 6: A citizen in the 9500 block of Semiahmoo
Parkway reported that sometime during the last two months
an outboard motor was stolen from their boat. The citizen
lives out of the area and just noticed the theft.
March 6: An officer found a dog running at large
dragging a blackberry vine that was about 10-15 feet long.
The officer caught the dog and removed the vine. The dog
was missing since March 4. The owner was located and reunited
with the dog.
