POLICE REPORTS
June
24: An officer was flagged down at a non-injury motor
vehicle collision in the 1800 block of H Street. Traffic
control was provided until a tow truck arrived. A driver
was issued an infraction for failure to yield at a stop
sign.
June 24: Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call
in the 700 block of H Street. A verbal domestic dispute
was in progress. One of the participants was sitting in
a car and had been smoking marijuana. Officers seized the
marijuana and cited and released the person.
June 23: An individual requested assistance with
a vehicle in a ditch in the 8900 block of Blaine Road. There
was minimal damage to the vehicle and no injuries. The vehicle
was removed. A subject said he had swerved to miss a car
parked in the roadway. The car was gone.
June 23: Officers were dispatched to a man assaulting
a young girl in the 300 block of D Street. While responding
the vehicle left the area. The car is registered in British
Columbia. Officers contacted B.C. officers who contacted
the victim. Officers are waiting for statements.
June 23: Officers responded to a domestic assault
between two brothers in the 500 block of G Street. Officers
arrested one brother who had damaged the ceiling in his
brothers home. Marijuana was found in the suspects
property.
June 22: A Seattle resident was arrested for possession
of about 18 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia
at the Peace Arch POE. He was issued a citation with a mandatory
court appearance.
June 22: A Blaine officer contacted a driver with
a warrant and a suspended drivers license in the 200
block of state route 543. The driver was arrested, booked
into jail, and cited to Blaine municipal court for the driving
offense.
June 22: An officer stopped a motorcycle for a traffic
offense in the 600 block of D Street for a traffic offense.
It was discovered that both riders had arrest warrants.
The driver also had a suspended drivers license. The
motorcycle was reported stolen. The pair were booked into
jail.
June 22: Officers investigated a report of an ongoing
domestic dispute in the 100 block of 4th Street. An investigation
revealed a bad day between boyfriend and girlfriend.
No assault reported. A cooling off period was suggested
to the duo.
June 22: An individual reported a check issued by
a subject for $375 was returned by the bank as being NSF.
June 22: Officers responded to the 700 block of G
Street regarding a report of vandalism to a park bench in
front of a establishment. It had been taken apart and parts
thrown about. All the parts were located and the bench was
reassembled. There are no suspects.
June 21: An officer gave a traveling couple a ride
to Canadian immigration after they had over-estimated the
distance they could walk. The senior citizens were very
appreciative of the assistance.
June 21: An officer attempted to stop a person for
speeding in the 2700 block of Peace Portal Drive. The driver
continued without stopping for over a mile before pulling
over. The driver was issued an infraction for speed and
failure to yield.
June 21: An officer stopped a motorist in the 700
block of Peace Portal Drive for a driving infraction and
discovered the driver had a suspended license. The driver
was cited to Blaine municipal court and his vehicle was
impounded.
June 21: A person in the 400 block of F Street reported
a problem with a neighbor screaming obscenities at her while
she and her children were outside. The neighbor was contacted
and asked not to scream obscenities.
June 20: Officers were assisting U.S. Customs on
northbound I-5 when a rental car driven by an individual
arrived. Customs advised that the individuals driving
privileges were canceled. The individual was cited for driving
without a license. His rental car was impounded.
June 20: A person in the 200 block of Marine Drive
reported a theft from their business. Further investigation
showed the incident to be a civil matter. No criminal act
is believed to have occurred.
June 20: An officer assisted a mental health professional
by transporting a suicidal/assaultive adult male from a
local care facility to St. Josephs Hospital for a
CDMHP requested involuntary psychiatric evaluation. The
patient was cooperative.
June 20: A U.S. Customs inspector intercepted a motorist
with a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia. A Blaine
officer investigated, cited the subject to Blaine municipal
court and seized the contraband.
June 20: A person was contacted while preparing to
leave a disabled parking space in the 200 block of G Street.
He was found to be driving without a license. He was issued
a criminal citation and a parking infraction. The car was
impounded.
June 19:An elderly male reported the loss of $400
cash to the police department.
June 19: A business in the 200 block of 2nd Street
reported having received two closed account personal checks
in payment for food. The case is under investigation.
