June
19: Officers were called to back up a Whatcom County
sheriff deputy who was about to make contact with a possibly
violent suspect in the 1800 block of Peace Portal Drive.
Officers responded and covered the deputy while the suspect
was taken into custody.
June 18: Officers investigated a domestic assault
where a shooting had occurred in the 200 block of B Street.
One person was arrested for assault in the second degree,
another for interfering with a police officer and a third
for DV assault in the fourth degree. All were booked into
jail.
June 18: A person reported overhearing remarks an
individual made about wishing a subject ill and about owning
several weapons. The case is under investigation.
June 18: An officer was advised of handbills being
posted around the mall area. The officer found the bills
to be in violation of city ordinance. The originator of
the bills was located and agreed to cease distribution.
June 17: WCSO requested officers check a boat at
Blaine Marina. A suicidal male was possibly enroute to the
boat from Ferndale. The boat slip was found to be empty.
WCSO was
notified.
June 17: A Blaine officer located a vehicle being
driven by a highly intoxicated, suspended driver in the
300 block of 11th Street. The officer observed driving violations,
investigated and arrested the driver for multiple criminal
and traffic violations.
June 17: Blaine officers assisted the fire department
with a welfare check on a man who needed insulin in the
300 block of 8th Street. His insulin had been left in an
impounded vehicle in which he was a passenger. The officers
retrieved the insulin.
June 17: An officer assisted parents in the 800 block
of Harrison Avenue with combative children by having a group
counseling session. The parents agreed to communicate with
each other, and the children said they would behave.
June 16: A store manager in the 1700 block of H Street
reported that an unknown teller accepted a counterfeit new
$100 bill. A Blaine officer forwarded the fake money to
the U.S. Secret Service.
June 16: A resident in the 2400 block of Bell Road
reported that a friendly family cat became angry and hostile.
The owner was advised to take his cranky feline to the vet
for a check up.
June 16: An officer responded to a solo bicyclist
accident in the 1000 block of D Street. The officer and
aid personnel found the 20-year-old bicyclist to be intoxicated.
Upon the males release by medics, he was arrested,
cited and released for MIP.
June 16: A crisis center reported an adult male subject
in the 9800 block of Jerome threatening suicide at a residence.
Officers took the male into protective custody and transported
him to the hospital for an involuntary mental evaluation.
June 16: A citizen reported a suspicious male passed
out in the lawn of an apartment building in the 600 block
of A Street. Officers contacted the male who said he was
stranded and needed a ride home. An officer transported
the man to Bellingham.
June 15: A person in the 700 block of Adelia Street
reported than an unknown vehicle drove through his yard
at an unknown time, striking and destroying a small tree.
There are no suspects.
June 15: Blaine officers stood by while animal control
officers contacted a homeowner in the 400 block of 9th Street
about a vicious dog on his property. The homeowner refused
to allow the animal to be removed. A court seizure order
may be obtained.
June 15: Officers were dispatched to CPR in progress
in the 800 block of Adelia Street. Officers arrived and
used automatic external defibrillators. They performed CPR
until aid arrived. Officers stayed with the family until
the man was taken to the hospital.
June 14: An individual reported a person or persons
unknown entered a local store in the 300 block of D Street
during the night and removed cash and cartons of cigarettes.
The case is under investigation.
June 14: An individual in the 400 block of F Street
reported finding graffiti spray painted on a garage and
two trailers.
June 14: Two reports were received regarding stolen
license plates off of vehicles in the 1700 block of H Street
and 700 block of C Street. A license plate was found on
the roadway in the 1700 block of Peace Portal Drive.
June 13: Officers investigated a car and motorcycle
injury accident in the 700 block of H Street. The motorcyclist
was rear-ended while stopped for a pedestrian at a crosswalk.
June 12: An officer received a report of a 15-year-old
threatening to kill two other juveniles by getting a gun
and shooting them. No weapon was displayed. The suspect
was arrested and transported to juvenile detention.
June 11: A pet owner in the 600 block of H Street
reported her two ferrets had run away from home. Officers
scouted the neighborhood for the animals but did not locate
them.
