Community theater auditions

The Blaine Community Theater is holding auditions for the fall production of Moon Over Buffalo.

Ken Ludwig wrote the boisterous comedy, set in a run-down theater in Buffalo. The play follows a couple of veteran almost-been actors struggling to grasp at one last shot at the big time.

The upcoming auditions will fill a dozen roles for men and women from their late teens to their golden years. The group is also looking for people to fill a number of behind the scenes roles. “Community theater is for everyone, experienced or not,” said director Spiral Barrett. “We need folks who want to learn how to put together a set, create and organize props and costumes, operate lights or sound, handle publicity and many other tasks.”

Auditions are at 7 p.m., July 15 and 16 at the Performing Arts Center, and actors will be asked to read unprepared a piece of the script. Actors will need to commit to a rehearsal schedule leading to performances September 20 to 29.

For more information, call Barrett after noon at 332-2042.
