Music
classes
This
summer the Blaine school district will be able to offer
an exciting new music experience using a technology-assisted
program.
Andy
Harmening will lead the Blaine Keyboard Discovery class,
making use of Yamahas Music In Education Keyboard
Lab to offer classes in the study and creation of music.
Class instruction in basic piano/keyboard skills, music
listening and creativity skills will be available to students
in the primary, elementary and middle schools.
Each
session will run for 50 minutes a day, five days a week,
for two weeks (a total of 10 classes) beginning June 18
and ending June 29. A second session will follow from July
2 to July 13, giving students a chance to enroll in either
session or both, for more advanced study. The small classes,
only six students per class will run both morning and afternoon
depending on response. If adults are interested, an adult
class may be formed.
The
program costs $25, $20 for a second session or second child.
Students in free and reduced lunch programs qualify for
reduced fees.
The
registration deadline for the classes is June 15. Call 332-8226
for Andy Harmening if you have any questions.
