And
what a prom it was...
The Editor:
We would like to thank Blaine Marina for the use of their
truck to carry all our props and decorations to and from the
ferry terminal for our junior/senior prom held June 2. To
all the parents who gave of their time so willingly, thank
you!
A very special thank you to Cindy McDonald, the coordinator
behind the efforts and ideas of the kids and parents. Cindy,
we appreciate all that you do!

Blaine High School
Fruits
of friendship
The Editor:
I am the grandmother and sole caretaker of Blaine high
school student Paul J. Flores.
As
you are aware, Paul is completely dependent for all his
needs. He is however, very social and enjoys the interaction
of his peers. He is always very excited to go to school
each morning, and although it is hard for him to be confined
to a wheelchair for the entire day, he never complains when
he returns home, but does need a nap.
Some
students have taken it upon themselves to interact with
Paul and be his friends. I appreciate this effort very much,
not only for what they give to Paul, but also for the help
it gives to me.
I
am sure that Pauls excitement is multiplied because
of these students. Paul and I are at home with only each
other much of the time and knowing that he has had this
special attention during the week makes it much easier on
me. I dont feel the pressure as much to make sure
that the weekend is as busy for Paul.
Haily
Braumberger, Andrew Martin, Nick Leininger and Michael Braun
have continued to spend time with Paul this year and I commend
them greatly. They have opted to spend their free time with
Paul, giving him their time and attention. They are very
special people and I hope that they are acknowledged for
their kind hearts. Please convey my special thanks to these
young people and let them know how much they are also helping
me.
