July
1:
Two adult males were fighting in an apartment complex parking
lot in the 1600 block of Runge. Officers identified one
male. He claimed to be a victim. The other male was not
identified. No arrests in this case were made.
July 1: An officer assisted U.S. Customs with arresting
two subjects at the Peace Arch POE in possession of counterfeit
bills. The secret service was contacted and the subjects
were taken to Whatcom County Sheriffs Office for booking.
July 1: An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding
at the Peace Arch POE and found the driver to be in violation
of all of his drivers license restrictions, including
consumption of alcohol. The driver was issued an infraction
and keys taken until sobriety proved.
July 1: An officer was approached by a subject while
on a traffic stop demanding that the officer move his vehicle.
After completion of the traffic stop, the subject was warned
about his actions.
July 1: At WCSO request, a Blaine officer provided
mutual assistance in the 7600 block of Kickerville Road
concerning a suspect and owner fighting over a stolen car.
The officer provided backup to the solo deputy until other
deputies arrived.
June 30: Several juveniles were arrested after throwing
a smoke bomb into a moving motor vehicle. The victim was
not injured. Charges will be forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor
for review.
June 29: A 12-year-old boy found three rings in a
restroom in the 300 block of D Street and turned them over
to an adult. A Blaine officer booked the rings for safekeeping.
June 28: An individual in the 600 block of 8th Street
called the police to request assistance in removing a child
from the business. Officers arrived and instructed the child
to leave, but he refused. Officers carried the child to
the parents vehicle.
June 28: An officer was sent to the 700 block of
A Street to take a report of an assault that happened after
school on F Street. An 11-year-old was spit upon by another
child. Under investigation.
June 28: Officers saw a vehicle driving erratically
in the 1500 block of Peace Portal Drive. The vehicle pulled
over and the driver contacted officers. The driver was found
to be impaired. The driver was arrested and processed for
DUI and released. The vehicle was impounded.
June 27: An officer stopped a car registered to a
suspended driver in the 2600 block of Bell Road. The officer
determined that the driver was the registered owner. The
adult male was cited/arrested/released for DWLS/R 3rd. He
was also cited for no insurance, expired tabs and switched
plates.
June 27: An officer was called to the Blaine Municipal
Court to arrest an adult male on two outstanding warrants.
The male was taken into custody and booked into Whatcom
County Jail.
June 26: Dispatch reported medics were responding
to a store in the 1700 block of H Street where an elderly
male was acting odd and refusing to leave. Officers stood
by while medics evaluated the man whom they later transported
home.
June 26: A resident in the 5300 block of Canvasback
reported a transient had set up camp beside the road in
Semiahmoo. Blaine officers contacted the man, got him a
meal, and drove him to an out of town campground at his
request.
June 26: An officer was dispatched to the mall in
reference to someone leaving two small children unattended
in a car. The mother in the car upon officers arrival.
The mother was educated on the dangers of the situation.
June 26: An off-duty officer reported seeing two
teenage boys carrying electronic devices and acting in a
suspicious nature in the 4300 block of Sweet Road. The officer
contacted the two boys and took down their information in
case a related crime is discovered.
