POLICE REPORTS

July 17: A citizen reported a DUI driver. An officer arrived and determined the driver was DUI. The driver was arrested, processed and released with a court date. The vehicle was impounded.
July 17: A resident reported to police that an unknown man was watching his young daughter who was alone in his car. When he got into his car the man left. He wrote down the license plate, and police are watching for the car.
July 17: A resident in the 600 block of C Street reported to police that juveniles in a van had just egged her car and house. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the van.
July 16: A citizen in the 1000 block of Adelia Street reported missing money from her residence sometime last night. The residence was locked. There were no signs of forced entry and no one else has a key to the residence. The case is under investigation.
July 16: A resident in the 600 block of C Street asked police to return her 13-year-old son who was refusing to go home. After several attempts, officers were able to convince the juvenile to go to a safe house for the night. The parents agreed to this as well.
July 16: Officers advised of a dog attacking a restrained dog and pedestrian in the 1100 block of Mitchell Street. The attacking dog was identified and a report was forwarded to animal control and the prosecutor’s office.
July 16: Two citizens reported an unresponsive male behind the wheel of a vehicle in the 200 block of Marine Drive. The vehicle was in the middle of the road. Officers awakened the driver and arrested him for DUI/physical control, cited and released him. The vehicle was impounded.
July 15: Officers responded to a noise complaint (loud music) at a rural residence. A small party was found to be occurring. One adult male fled upon officer’s arrival. Contact and force was used to catch him. The male was not injured. No arrests were made.
July 14: An individual in the 600 block of Adelia Street reported that he had been assaulted in his home by another person. A short time later, the other person called to report that he had been assaulted. The case will be forwarded to the prosecutor.
July 14: A person in the 400 block of 9th Street reported her dog had been taken from its kennel sometime during the night. There are no suspects. The owner does not wish for the dog’s return.
July 14: A person in the 1800 block of Peace Portal Drive reported a dispute with a customer which ended when the customer left without paying for his gasoline. A license number was obtained and the investigation is continuing.
July 14: An officer stopped a car for a traffic violation at 8th and H Street. The officer arrested the driver for DWLS/R 3rd/cited and released her. She was cited for no proof of insurance and warned about her failure to signal. The car was impounded.
July 14: Officers arrested an adult male for a no bail Blaine municipal court warrant. The man was booked into Whatcom County Jail for the warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia.
July 14: U.S. Customs at the Peace Arch POE reported a possible DUI driver. An officer determined the driver not to be impaired but over the safe limit to drive. The keys were held until the driver had no alcohol in his system.
July 13: A citizen in the 2000 block of Boblett Road reported cherries had been taken from his tree. Officers will provide extra patrol in the area.
July 13: A Blaine officer spotted a rottweiler at large and followed the dog home. The officer contacted the owner and issued a written warning notice.
July 13: An off-duty officer observed an illegal/dangerous traffic violation on a city street. An on-duty officer was contacted who stopped the offending driver. The driver was cited for illegal passing and no seat belt for a child.
July 13: A resident in the 800 block of 3rd Street reported that a man in a small compact red car took pictures of her residence without permission and acted suspicious. Officers were unable to locate the man and provided extra patrol to the area.
July 13: A person attempting to enter the U.S. from Canada was arrested when it was found that his license was suspended. He was issued a criminal citation and released. The vehicle was impounded.
July 13: An individual reported a possible incident of road rage on Bell Road. The suspect vehicle was a Suzuki Samarai with unknown B.C. license plates.
July 13: Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the 1600 block of Madison Street. The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license. The driver was issued a criminal citation and released. The vehicle was impounded.
July 12: A juvenile found a BMX bike and reported it to police. Officers took a report and a description of the bicycle.
July 12: An individual reported two subjects forged checks on the individual’s account. The case is under investigation.
July 12: An juvenile that was contacted turned over an older purple/yellow mountain bike found on the roadside. An officer attempted to locate the owner of the bike, but had negative results.
July 12: Officers were dispatched to juveniles shooting a BB gun at a neighbor’s house in the 500 block of Adelia Street. Officers interviewed the juveniles and impounded the BB gun. The case will be sent to the juvenile prosecutor for review.
July 12: During a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Peace Portal Drive, an officer observed a driver in possession of drug paraphernalia, controlled substances, and prescriptions medications without a prescription. The driver was booked into Whatcom County Jail.
July 11: An individual in the 900 block of 3rd Street reported two female subjects came to his house and screamed vulgar racial names at him in his front yard. The two female subjects also refused to leave his property. The case was forwarded to the prosecutor for review.
July 11: An officer responded to the Peace Arch POE to process a traveler from California who was in possession of marijuana. The driver was arrested, processed and released. The driver was issued criminal citation and given mandatory court date.
July 11: An individual in the 200 block of F Street called police disputing children riding their bicycles in front of his house. Public property was defined for them.
July 11: An officer was advised by a resident in the 700 block of Mitchell Street that he was chased and threatened by two unknown subjects who threatened his life. The resident was believed to be mistaken for another subject who has out of state gang ties.
