Blaine city council has approved a $14,000 contract with the consultant firm of Chandler, Brooks and Donahoe, Inc. to provide tourism commercial recruitment services.

Speaking at council’s regular meeting July 16, city manager Gary Tomsic said, “I think we’re going to have to have a sustained effort. We’re just getting our toe wet here.”

The firm will be producing a recruitment brochure as well as actively recruiting tourism-oriented businesses such as a mid-priced hotel to locate in Blaine’s downtown area..
