Blaine has a new face to show to the world, thanks to a newly redesigned brochure for the city’s tourism department.

“I’m really excited about them,” said city clerk Shirley Thorsteinson, who oversaw production of the new brochure. “They’re so bright and eye-catching. People love them.”

Blaine paid approximately $5,000 for 30,000 new brochures, featuring contact information, directions and photographs of the area. Thorsteinson said she did not think the city had revised its promotional brochures since the 1980s, and it was time for a new look.

The brochures are being distributed through visitor’s information centers and businesses.

“We’re distributing them everywhere we can get our hands on,” Thorsteinson said. She added that the brochures would be included in information packets city staff sends to individuals and businesses considering relocating to Blaine.
