December
16: An officer was notified of a theft from a vehicle
in the 200 block of D Street which occurred last Friday.
Documents were taken from the vehicle while it was parked.
The case is under investigation.
December 16: An officer assisted WCSO by responding
to the Pacific Highway POE for a subject with a suspended
drivers license. An officer cited the subject and
impounded his vehicle.
December 16: A citizen called the U.S. Border Patrol
to report an illegal entry into the U.S. A Bellingham resident
was contacted and arrested for possession of marijuana.
The juvenile offender was released to a relative.
December 15: An individual at a business in the 600
block of Peace Portal Drive requested police escort a subject
out of the business. An officer transported the subject
to detox at her request.
December 15: A parent called the police department
and requested a check to see if her daughter was under the
influence of alcohol. An officer arrived and determined
the minor was under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested
for minor in possession.
December 15: Officers were dispatched to the Peace
Arch POE for a female subject in possession of marijuana.
An officer contacted and arrested her for possession of
marijuana under 40 grams. She was cited and released.
December 15: Officers responded to a call of vandalism
in the 700 block of F Street. Officers discovered damage
to a vehicle. The case is under investigation.
December 14: Officers responded to a report of a
possible drug overdose at a business in the 200 block of
Martin Street. It was determined by medical personnel to
be a medical problem not associated with an overdose.
December 14: A citizen reported the theft of an outboard
motor from his moorage slot at Semiahmoo Marina. There are
no suspects at this time.
December 14: Blaine police alerted Border Patrol
agents to a suspicious situation that indicated possible
smuggling in the 200 block of D Street. An officer then
assisted with the vehicle stop. One person was taken into
custody by the U.S. Border Patrol.
December 13: A subject delayed the apprehension of
an individual by concealing the person in her home in the
700 block of Cedar Street. She is being cited by summons
for rendering criminal assistance. The individual was wanted
for domestic violence malicious mischief. He was arrested.
December 13: Officers responded to a report of a
male breaking out windows in his ex-girlfriends apartment
in the 600 block of D Street. Officers located the male
hiding in one of his friends apartments. He was arrested,
treated for cuts, and booked into jail.
December 13: Officers extinguished a car electrical
fire with their patrol car equipment in the 900 block of
4th Street. The driver of the vehicle said the dashboard
started to smoke and then it started on fire.
December 13: A resident asked for assistance locating
her 19-foot Grumman aluminum canoe, which was stolen from
the bank of Dakota Creek just outside the city in the past
week. A report also was filed with WCSO. All officers were
advised.
December 12: A business manager in the 9500 block
of Semiahmoo Parkway reported the theft of a Toshiba LCD
projector valued at $5,000. The theft is being investigated.
December 12: An officer responded to a non-injury
accident in the 8600 block of Semiahmoo Parkway. A motorist
had struck a deer. The department of fish and wildlife was
notified to remove the deer from the roadway.
December 12: Officers investigating a trespass complaint
contacted a 14-year-old near I-5 and Mitchell Street. The
boy had a pistol stolen from a relatives gun safe.
He was not a student on campus, but had shown the gun to
friends on school grounds. He was booked into custody.
December 11: Officers responded to a residential
structure fire in the 600 block of B Street. Officers put
out a small fire. Officers cleared when the fire department
arrived.
December 11: Officers investigated a vehicle prowl
at the Blaine high school. Stereo speakers and an amp were
taken from the vehicle. The case is under investigation.
December 10: Officers responded to a vehicle prowl
in the 700 block of Peace Portal Drive. An officer contacted
the suspect and arrested him on three counts of attempted
vehicle prowl.
December 10: An officer stopped a vehicle in the
1100 block of Peace Portal Drive for failing to dim their
headlights. The officer cited the driver for failure to
obtain a Washington drivers license, failure to show
proof of insurance, expired vehicle tabs, and failure to
wear a seatbelt.
December 10: Officers assisted a WCSO deputy in arresting
a DV assault suspect in the 600 block of A Street. The suspect
was taken into custody without incident.
December 10: Officers responded to a fight in progress
between four males in the 200 block of Martin Street. Officers
arrested one of the males for MIP, lewd act, resisting arrest,
and malicious mischief. He was booked into Whatcom County
Jail.
December 10: Officers responded with the fire department
to a car versus building collision which occurred after
the driver suffered a severe medical emergency. The 49-year-old
driver died of natural causes not related to the accident.
December 10: Officers responded to a simple assault
in the 800 block of Mitchell Street. Officers arrived and
determined no crime existed. A warning was given to the
primary aggressor.
December 9: A citizen in the 600 block of A Street
reported a dent in the hood of her car. An officer checked
the dent and found a footprint. Photos were taken, and the
officer pushed up on the inside of the car and removed the
dent.
December 9: Officers responded to the Peace Arch
POE for an individual with several warrants. The subject
was arrested for outstanding warrants and resisting arrest.
December 8: Officers responded to the Ken Water Gym
for a disruptive fan at a wrestling match. The subject left
when officers arrived. There were no further incidents.
December 8: Officers contacted a man for a minor
traffic violation in the 4800 block of Birch Bay-Lynden
Road. The man was arrested for driving under the influence
of alcohol/drugs and was issued a citation with a mandatory
court date and released. A passenger in the car forgot his
backpack. Officers found drug paraphernalia in the back
pack. The subject was later questioned and admitted it was
his. The case was forwarded to the prosecutor.
December 8: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic
infraction in the 200 block of H Street and discovered the
drivers license was suspended. The driver was cited
and released with a mandatory court date. The vehicle was
impounded.
December 7: A Blaine resident reported a teenager
in a red truck failing to stop at a stop sign and speeding
in the 500 block of F Street. Officers were unable to locate
the suspect or the vehicle at the time. The case is under
investigation.
December 7: An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding
in the 1700 block of Peace Portal Drive and found the driver
to be DUI. The driver was arrested, processed, and released
with a mandatory court date. The vehicle was impounded.
He was also cited for the speed violation.
December 7: An officer located a male subject who
had a felony warrant and five misdemeanor warrants for his
arrest. The subject was taken into custody and booked into
Whatcom County Jail. The warrants were cleared.
December 7: An individual reported her cellphone
and some cash missing from her purse that was left in a
classroom. The case is under investigation.
December 7: A Blaine officer responded to the Peace
Arch POE for an individual in possession of marijuana. The
officer cited and released the subject with a mandatory
court date.
