December
7: Blaine officers confirmed a driver with a suspended
drivers license at the Peace Arch POE. The driver
was issued a criminal citation with a mandatory court date.
The vehicle was impounded.
December 6: An officer received a theft report from
a resident in the 500 block of 10th Street. The case is
under investigation.
December 5: Officers responded to the 500 block of
10th Street for a domestic dispute. Officers arrested an
individual for DV assault and booked him into jail.
December 5: The Whatcom County Prosecutors
office issued two felony arrest warrants for a Blaine resident.
The resident was deported from Canada by Canada Immigration.
He was arrested at the Peace Arch POE and booked into jail.
December 5: An officer responded to a hit and run
in the 200 block of Cedar Street that had occurred the night
before. The suspect was located and issued a citation.
December 5: A silver BMX Mongoose bicycle was reported
stolen from outside the city limits. Report for informational
purposes in case police recover the bike.
December 5: Officers responded to a local bank in
the 400 block of Martin Street for a letter that was incoherent,
but of some concern. Other banks in Whatcom County have
received the same letter. The case is under investigation.
December 4: A resident in the 9000 block of Harvey
Road complained about a construction crew blocking the roadway.
An officer contacted a construction crew member who stated
the complainant failed to obey a flagger. The officer warned
the complainant of the violation.
December 4: A truck driver reported the theft of
registration paperwork from his trailer. An officer completed
a theft report and advised U.S. and Canada customs of the
incident.
December 4: An individual reported a subject, who
lives out of the area, has been harassing the individual
and another individual by mail, email, and personal contact.
Case under investigation.
December 4: A business in New York reported a possible
credit card scam being done via a local freight company
in the 1100 block of Yew Avenue. Informational report generated
and forwarded to proper investigating authorities.
December 4: Officers received information of two
runaways being held at the Peace Arch POE. Officers took
a juvenile into protective custody and turned her over to
child protective services. The male was an adult and released
by officers.
December 4: Officers responded to a domestic dispute
in the 500 block of F Street. Officers contacted both parties
and determined no assault occurred. The dispute was resolved,
and officers cleared.
December 4: Officers responded to a domestic dispute
in the 700 block of Cedar Street. Officers contacted both
parties, who agreed to separate for the evening.
December 4: Officers responded to a physical domestic
assault in progress in the 500 block of F Street. Officers
determined no assault occurred and transported an adult
male to the hospital for a voluntary mental evaluation.
December 4: An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding
and learned the driver had been drinking. The officer determined
the driver to be DUI. She was arrested, processed, and released
with a court date. The vehicle was impounded.
December 3: Officers responded to a report of a shooting
victim on the beach near Semiahmoo Park. They found an elderly
gentleman had died from a self-inflicted wound in an apparent
suicide. The family members were notified.
December 3: Officers responded to a hit and run motor
vehicle accident in the 1700 block of H Street. It was determined
the driver was DUI. The driver was arrested for DUI, DWLS,
and hit and run. The vehicle was impounded.
December 3: A laundromat patron reported that another
customer had become angry and yelled obscenities at her
in the presence of other customers. Officers attempted contact
with the suspect, but he was gone on arrival and not located..
