April
22: U.S. Customs at the Peace Arch POE reported an adult
male in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and a
drug pipe. An officer arrested the male for the drug related
offenses and booked him into Whatcom County jail.
April 22: Officers responded to a runaway call at
the Peace Arch POE and found that customs handled the call.
The mother of the 17-year-old boy gave permission for an
adult friend to drive her son home.
April 22: A grandfather in the 300 block of Clark
Street reported that he is supervising a 14-year-old boy
who violated a court order by leaving home without permission.
The violation report will be forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor.
April 22: U.S. Customs requested assistance in stopping
two adult males who entered the U.S. illegally. Officers
stopped the males on state route 543 and returned them to
U.S. Customs.
April 21: A female in the 700 block of A Street reported
that her former boyfriend entered her apartment using a
crowbar; destroyed property, made threats, committed an
assault and possibly stole property. Previous conviction
for burglary first exists for the perpetrator.
April 20: Officers contacted a pair of adults in
the 200 block of 6th Street who had taken an injured bald
eagle into their custody. The pair were determined to be
volunteer wildlife care givers. Washington State Department
of Fish & Wildlife approved the action. No crime.
April 19: Officers were asked to assist WSP with
a seagull entangled in a power line in the 100 block of
Marine Drive. Officers exhausted alternatives to reach the
seagull which was about 25 feet above the water. The seagull
had to be dispatched.
April 19: A resident in the 700 block of Harrison
Avenue stopped by the police department to file a report
about an old family friend who continues to harass her.
She wanted to get a restraining order. Officers directed
her to Superior Court to get the order.
April 19: A resident in the 1600 block of Runge Street
reported a three-year-old was playing in traffic. An officer
contacted the childs father. He was aware of the incident
and is taking steps to see that it never happens again.
April 18: An officer assisted with a medical aid
call in the 700 block of F Street until fire district #13
arrived. An adult male was suffering from a kidney stone.
April 17: An officer contacted two witnesses who
were to appear in court to testify against the juvenile
arrestee. The two witnesses stated a juvenile arrestee told
one to lie and intimated the second witness.
April 17: An officer was sent to the 1000 block of
Harrison Street regarding a subject who did not want to
leave a residence. The officer located the subject and found
a male and a female in the process of breaking up with one
another. The male half left willingly.
April 17: U.S. Customs at the Peace Arch POE reported
an adult male in possession of steroids without a prescription.
An officer arrested the male and booked him into jail.
