April
17: U.S. Border Patrol requested a Blaine officer transport
a Border Patrol arrestee from Blaine sector headquarters
to Whatcom County Jail. The arrestee was booked for an extraditable
felony warrant from San Francisco police.
April 16: An employee of a business in the 200 block
of D Street reported that someone stole the front license
plate from his Chevy truck while he was at work. The plate
was entered into the system as stolen. DOL will issue new
license plates.
April 16: U.S. Customs at the Peace Arch POE reported
an adult male in possession of marijuana. An officer arrested
the subject, cited and released him pending court appearance.
April 15: An officer warned a juvenile about writing
on a sign with chalk in the 200 block of H Street.
April 15: Officers investigated a two-car injury accident
at Peace Portal and Bell roads. A driver will be issued
a ticket for failure to yield right-of-way.
April 15: An acrylic parrot container valued over
$200 was reported stolen from the 9700 block of Vista Terrace.
The case is under investigation.
April 15: Officers responded to an aid call in the
200 block of D Street where the patient was reported to
be bleeding from her catheter. Officers provided assistance
until aid arrived.
April 14: An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding
in the 5600 block of Drayton Harbor. Subsequent to the stop
it was determined that the subject had lived in Washington
for approximately one year and had not obtained a Washington
state drivers license. The subject was cited and released
with a court date.
April 14: A citizen in the 1000 block of Mitchell
Street reported two small juveniles playing with plastic
cap guns and pointing them at cars. Officers contacted the
kids and their parents and talked with them about pointing
guns at people.
April 14: Officers were dispatched to an aid call
in the 400 block of C Street for an elderly woman who fell
from her bed. Officers arrived and monitored the woman until
aid arrived.
April 14: Officers were dispatched to the Peace Arch
POE for a possible suspended driver. Officers verified the
driver was suspended. He was issued a criminal citation,
and his vehicle was impounded.
April 13: Officers were dispatched to assist the
fire department with a person who was requesting aid in
the 200 block of Marine Drive. Officers arrived and assisted
locating the person.
April 13: Officers received a call of dogs harassing
children in the 1100 block of Mitchell Avenue. Officers
contacted the suspect and advised that the dogs could not
be at large. The reporting party did not want to press charges.
Information to be forwarded to the humane society.
April 13: U.S. Customs reported an adult male in
possession of marijuana at the Peace Arch POE. An officer
arrested the male for the offense, cited and released him.
April 13: Officers responded to a call in the 400
block of Marine Drive in reference to a male whose dingy
had capsized and he had swam to shore. The man was transported
to the hospital by the fire department.
April 13: Officers observed a subject throw a empty
cup into a field as he was walking on H Street. The subject
was issued a criminal citation for littering and released.
April 13: Officers responded to a male not breathing
with no pulse in the 1600 block of Peace Portal Drive. Officers
started CPR and attempted AED. Revival attempts were unsuccessful.
The officers conducted a death investigation.
April 13: Officers received dispatch to injured animals
in Semiahmoo. The officer searched the area and was unable
to find the animals.
April 13: A resident in the 300 block of Alder Street
complained about her neighbors five year old son throwing
rocks at her young son. Officers talked with the parents
of both juveniles who agreed they were just being kids.
April 13: Officers responded to an aid call for an
elderly man having chest pains in the 700 block of Peace
Portal Drive. Officers monitored the man until the fire
department arrived.
April 12: An individual responded to an E-Bay generated
contact for a Palm/Franklin 3C organizer. He mailed a postal
money order for $229 to a Blaine address and did not receive
a product or refund. The case is under investigation.
April 12: An athletics coach reported two juvenile
males having thrown a bicycle in a dumpster at the middle
school. An officer spoke to the juveniles who had corrected
their error prior to other officers arrival. The problem
solved bad joke.
April 11: Blaine officers contacted a man in the
600 block of Peace Portal Drive who was expressing rage
at an out of order pay phone. GTE will repair the phone
and advise the officers if the phone was damaged during
the incident. An internal alarm may have activated.
April 11: U.S. Customs at the Peace Arch POE reported
two runaways and one adult male in possession of drug paraphernalia
from same group. Officers cited the adult by summons for
drug issues. The runaways were released with parental approval.
April 11: Officers contacted three males in the 1300
block of Boblett Street who had removed and damaged a no
parking sign from a local business. The males replaced the
sign and were trespassed from the business.
