Woman falls from Blaine overpass

With few details available at press time, Washington State Patrol trooper Heather Axtman confirmed that a woman either jumped or fell off the Hughes Avenue overpass just after 2 p.m. on Monday, October 2.

The overpass is approximately 17 feet tall and the fall resulted in injury, Axtman said, adding the woman was not hit by a vehicle. The woman was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center and the incident is still under investigation.
