The North Cascades Concert Band (NCCB) is returning to Blaine and will be taking concertgoers to a galaxy far, far away.
The 50-piece concert band will kick off its fall concert series at the Blaine High School Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 20. The theme of this year’s performance is “Pop Classic From The Masters.” The concert will feature performances of some of the most famous and beloved pieces of classical music, such as the “1812 Overture,” “Marriage of Figaro,” “Rhapsody in Blue” and John Williams’ score to the “Star Wars” trilogy.
The Mount Baker Youth Symphony, a Bellingham-based symphony for people 21 years of age or younger, will accompany the NCCB. Following the Blaine performance, NCCB will put on shows in Arlington and Anacortes on Sunday, November 22 and 29.
The concert is free to attend, but donations are welcomed. NCCB is a nonprofit 501c(3) organization. To see a complete schedule for the band’s fall season, visit nccband.org.
