Blaine school board to consider updates to comprehensive program plan

The Blaine school district board of directors will consider staff and community input on updates to the comprehensive program plan.

The board annually makes revisions to the comprehensive plan and is soliciting input from its constituents. Of particular interest will be the implications of new graduation requirements, as imposed by the Washington State Board of Education.

In addition, the board will consider options for expanding early childhood programs in the future, beginning with the onset of all-day-every-day kindergarten in the 2016-17 school year.

Mitch Everton, former board member in the Anacortes school district, will lead the discussions. The community member sessions will take place on Wednesday, September 30, and Thursday, October 1, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Blaine school district board room.

Those interested in joining one of these discussions should contact Tina Padilla at 332-5881.
